Walking the Way

Welcome to Lent

Lent is the time when we intentionally make space to draw nearer to God.  We prepare our hearts and minds so that we are ready to celebrate with joy at Easter. It is a time to clear away the clutter of our lives through reflection and prayer, and gives us a chance to trust God  for his forgiveness, renewal and refreshment.

As a benefice, we offer a number of ways to help you make the space needed for God during this Season of Lent. We hope you will find this leaflet a helpful guide to the opportunities available.

40acts

A chance to be generous each day

More than 100,000 people have taken part in 40acts during Lent in past years. A daily reflection and challenge to a specific act of generosity will arrive in your in-box each day. Sign up at www.40acts.org.uk

Praying Together 2018: Pray Serve Grow

After the success of last year’s Lent resource, the diocese has produced another booklet to be used by individuals or small groups. For each day of Lent, there is a Bible verse, a very brief reflection, a prayer and a practical action. Booklets available in church or from the Vicar.  Also possible to receive as an email each day or via the PrayerMate app. More information on these at http:www.salisbury.anglican.org/worship/prayer/praying-together
